Form CP-03 · Client Portal

Uploading from a phone.

Most of your clients will open their upload link on a smartphone. Fetcher's upload portal is fully mobile-optimized — no app download required, no pinch-to-zoom, no layout issues. It works in any modern mobile browser.

Camera scanning (scan to PDF)

When a client taps the Upload button on a mobile device, they get a choice: Choose file (from their photos or files app) or Take photo (open the camera directly). The Take Photo option lets them photograph a paper document on the spot — a W-2, a pay stub, a signed form — and submit it as a photo without printing or scanning equipment.

Fetcher automatically converts camera photos to a clean, rotation-corrected image file. For multi-page documents, clients can take multiple photos and attach them all to the same item.

Tips for clients who scan from a phone

Good phone scans need decent lighting and a flat surface. If a client tells you their uploaded documents look blurry or dark, share these quick tips:

  • Place the document flat on a white or light-colored surface
  • Use natural light or a bright lamp — avoid direct overhead fluorescent lighting
  • Hold the phone parallel to the document, not at an angle
  • Tap to focus on the document before shooting

HEIC files from iPhones

iPhones running iOS 11 and later shoot photos in HEIC format by default. Fetcher accepts HEIC files and handles them correctly on your end — you don't need to ask clients to change their camera settings.

Uploading from a files app

Clients can also upload documents already on their phone — from their Downloads folder, their Files app, or directly from apps like Adobe Scan, Microsoft Lens, or their email attachments. Fetcher accepts any of the supported formats from any source on the device.
